Caitlyn Moriarty

Director, grit volleyball camps

Named the 2017 AVCA South Region Coach of the Year and the 2017 SAA Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Vikings to an undefeated conference record and an SAA Conference Championship. Additionally, the Vikings were NCAA Regional Finalist (Sweet 16 round), finished ranked #2 in the South and ranked #2 in NCAA DIII for Blocks/Set. In her two years as Head Coach at Berry, she has aided the development of 9 All-Conference players, 5 All-Region players, and 5 AVCA All-Americans, including the SAA Conference Player of the Year and the SAA Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Moriarty served as Berry's Assistant Coach for four seasons before being named Head Coach in February 2016. Prior to coming to Berry, Moriarty was an All American Middle Blocker at Christopher Newport University in Virginia and was an assistant coach for the Captains when they went all the way to the DIII National Championship match. Moriarty also serves as the Director of Tsunami-Rome Volleyball Club.

JT Oates

In 2018 John Thomas "JT" Oates begins his third season as an assistant for the Berry Vikings. In his two seasons with the Vikings, he has helped the team compile a 53-17 record and a 24-4 SAA conference record, placing the team in the conference finals both years and winning the conference championship in 2017. The 2017 season ended with a trip to the NCAA round of sixteen after a record-breaking undefeated conference schedule. Prior to Berry, JT served as the volunteer assistant at Bridgewater College in Virginia while working as a Maintenance and Commercial Programs Manager with Dynamic Aviation in Virginia for 12 years.  Oates is USAV Impact, Cap I and Cap II certified and is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Katie O'Rourke

In 2018 Katie O'Rourke begins her third season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Vikings. She was the 2015 SAA Conference Player of the Year and an All-American Middle Blocker for Berry. Katie graduated Berry in 2016 with a degree in Elementary Education. When she's not coaching, Katie is teaching 4th grade in the Rome City School District.




In addition to the Berry College Volleyball coaching staff, our camps and clinics will be assisted by current and former Viking Volleyball players, as well as select trusted club directors and other college coaches. 6:1 Camper to Coach Ratio.
