Caitlyn Moriarty

Director, grit volleyball camps

In February 2016, Caitlyn Moriarty was promoted to Head Volleyball Coach for Berry College, after spending four seasons as the Assistant Coach. Over the last four years, she helped the Vikings win both the SAA regular season and tournament championship twice as well as advance to the NCAA Regional semifinals twice. Prior to coming to Berry, Moriarty was an All American Middle Blocker at Christopher Newport University and was an assistant coach for the Captains when they went all the way to the DIII National Championship match. Moriarty also serves as the Director of Tsunami-Rome Volleyball Club.

JT Oates

John Thomas “JT” Oates was named Assistant Coach at Berry in June of 2016. A native of Atlanta, Oates brings extensive volleyball knowledge and coaching experience. He has spent two seasons as an Assistant Coach with Division III Bridgewater College. While at Bridgewater, Oates focused on aiding player development, practice planning, and recruiting student-athletes. He also spent 10 years with Valley Juniors Volleyball Club in Virginia, serving both as the Head Coach and Club Director. Oates also serves as a Head Coach with Tsunami-Rome Volleyball Club.

Katie O'Rourke

Starting in July of 2016, Katie began serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the Vikings. She was an All-American Middle Blocker for Berry, and graduated in 2016 with a degree in Elementary Education. When she's not coaching, Katie is teaching 4th grade in the Rome City School District. O'Rourke also serves as an Assistant Coach with Tsunami-Rome Volleyball Club.



In addition to the Berry College Volleyball coaching staff, our camps and clinics will be assisted by current and former Viking Volleyball players, as well as select trusted club directors and other college coaches.
